The new caps on the Foreign Skilled Worker (FSW) Program have been in place for one month. As of July 29, 2011, CIC has received a total of 529 eligible applications, which are considered normal. However, for the professional occupations in business services to Management, National Occupation Classification (NOC) # 1122, 259 applications have been received, that is more than halfway toward the 500 cap on the occupation category. Potential applicants in this occupation should move quickly in order to avoid quota being filled and having to wait to apply till July next year, unless they secure a valid Canadian job offer or Arranged Employment Opinion (AEO).
